With the GMC Sierra EV pickup truck and the GMC Hummer EV family of SUVs and vans, GM's top-of-the-line truck lineup is fully on board with the electric truck concept—albeit without utility truck versions like those offered under the Chevy brand.
In that, the GMC Sierra EV is it is mechanically identical to the Chevrolet Silverado EVbut offers different design details and equipment to match the gas and diesel Sierra line. Both the Silverado EV and the Sierra EV are completely different cars underneath compared to their flaming counterparts, built around GM's cell phone format co-developed with LG.
2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1
The 2024 GMC Sierra EV has been delivered so far in Denali Edition 1 form, with a larger package and a GM “estimated” EPA range of 440 miles. GMC also added a 2025 Sierra EV Denali with more width and higher tow ratings, and while the work truck versions remain exclusive, that's guaranteed. Height and AT4 versions of the Sierra EV it will arrive later in the 2025 model year.
Two battery pack sizes give you a choice of how much width you need—and how much battery weight you want to carry to accommodate that. In EPA range ratings, the GMC Sierra EV Extended range versions delivering 390 miles of EPA range from about 170 kwh, and Max Range Versions Previously 440 miles now “GM rated” up to 460 miles from about 205 kwh.
That's similar to what Chevrolet recently announced for the 2025 Chevy Silverado RST—a range that increases from 440 kilometers to 460 miles with what Chevy described as something related to the efficiency of motors, inverters, and aerodynamics. Utility truck (WT) versions of the 2025 Silverado EV measure up to 492 miles of range from that largest battery pack.
Both packs are dual-layer—meaning the Sierra EV can charge at 800 volts and up to 350 kw—recovering up to 100 kilometers wide in 10 minutes.

The 2024 Sierra EV Denali was priced at $99,495, including a premium package and a $1,995 destination charge. For 2025, the Sierra EV Denali with that Max Range package goes up nearly a thousand dollars, to $100,495 including a 2025 destination charge of $2,095. But with the little Extended Range package, the Sierra EV costs $91,995.
The Sierra EV offers a combined 760 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque with either battery pack, with two motors and drive units—one front, one rear. Four-wheel steering enables a turning circle of less than 42.2 feet, despite an overall length of 233.2 inches.
The front trunk—commonly called a frunk, but called an “eTrunk” by GMC—holds 11.0 cubic feet of cargo and is the perfect place for a carry-on bag or backpack.

Like the Silverado EV, the Sierra EV offers a more versatile midgate setup—meaning the truck bed can be extended to accommodate items up to 11 feet long, while accommodating passengers in the back seat. Think of it as wiggle room to balance your needs, depending on the job.
The adaptive air suspension also improves ride comfort and allows the truck to be raised or lowered as much as two inches.
2025 GMC Sierra EV too increasing its maximum drag capacity 500 pounds compared to last year—to 10,500 pounds.

GMC says that the upcoming Elevation and AT4 models of the Sierra EV will arrive in the first half of 2025. Here, it may be useful to look at the Sierra petrol, where the Elevation models get a more black configuration and suspension and traction improvements and add a few more useful features, while the AT4 models get off-road suspension and skid plates. But the exact details will not come until some months later, when the arrival of these models will certainly bring lower prices to this electric truck system.
