I 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 it gets a number of notable updates, including larger battery packs, a Tesla North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, and more rugged XRT variants. It will also be the first Hyundai EV to be built at the automaker's new production facility in Georgia, called “Metaplant.”
Arriving at dealerships before the end of the year is the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 cost $43,975 incl a $1,475 destination charge, which translates to $780 more than the 2024 model.
Battery pack sizes increase from 58.0 kwh to 63.0 kwh on Standard Range models and 77.4 kwh to 84.0 kwh on Long Range models—with an EPA range increase for both up to 318 miles of driving range now . This change was considered for the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N performance model, which debuted earlier this year with an 84.0-kwh package.
The single-car SE Standard Range now has a range of 150 miles. Single-motor SE, SEL, and Limited models with the big package get a bump from 303 miles to 318 miles wide. Dual-motor versions of those models get a range of 259 to 290 miles, depending on trim level and wheel/tire size, up from the previous 260 miles.

The new XRT range also joins the 2025 lineup, marking the first time this off-road-inspired trim has been used in a Hyundai EV. The Ioniq 5 XRT gets a suspension lift of 0.9 inches, new suspension tuning, All terrain tires on 18 inch wheels, exterior covered with digital camouflage pattern. It's only available with a dual-motor powertrain and a larger battery pack, but Hyundai didn't have a range estimate at press time.

The Ioniq 5 will be Hyundai's first EV with Built-in Tesla NACS charging portwhich Hyundai claims will unlock access to more than 17,000 Tesla Supercharger stations without the need for an adapter. Instead, Hyundai will sell the Combined Charging Standard (CCS) port adapter that the Ioniq 5 used before. All new or updated Hyundai EVs will come exclusively with the NACS port starting in the fourth quarter of this year. In the Supercharger, Hyundai said the Ioniq 5 will charge quickly from 10-80% in 24 minutes with a small 63.0-kwh battery and 30 minutes with a large 84.0-kwh pack. Those charging times drop for both packs to match 20 minutes with a CCS adapter for a 250-kw or higher charger.

Like other 2025 Hyundai models, the Ioniq 5 finally offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard equipment on all models. The collision avoidance assist and hands-on sensors are new, while the lane-center and remote automated parking assist features are updated.

Exterior styling changes include new front and rear bumpers, a new rear spoiler, and new wheel designs that Hyundai claims are aerodynamic. Under the skin, the body shell, front and rear doors, and parts of the B-pillars have been reinforced to improve side impact protection. Inside, the Ioniq 5 has a redesigned center console and climate controls, as well as a new steering wheel design.
As confirmed by Hyundai earlier this year, the Ioniq 5 will be the first EV built at the automaker's new Georgia factory. This will help 2025 models qualify for a $3,750 federal tax credit, but Hyundai will continue to offer a $7,500 rebate to leasing customers through the loophole.
