Taiwan's XING Mobility, which develops immersion battery technology, has unveiled its latest cooling system for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
Building on XING's Immersio XM25 cell pack system launched in 2019, the Immersio XM28 uses ternary lithium chemistry and space optimized to provide greater power, according to the company.
The system includes an active thermal run pressure, which allows rapid cooling of the battery cells to below 100° C within 30 seconds, preventing the spread of heat and ensuring the same temperature for all high voltage batteries, modules and systems. This can help extend the vehicle's driving range and battery life, translating into cost savings for EV fleet operators.
Earlier this month, XING Mobility launched its first manufacturing facility in Taiwan, which it plans to replicate in other countries.
“XING Mobility has used its advanced R&D experience in developing large-scale electric vehicles to advance the Immersio XM series, addressing the hot and diverse management issues facing commercial electric vehicles,” said Royce YC Hong, the company's founder and Chairman.
