“I wanted to find a company that would challenge and inspire me and when I saw Plug and everything they were doing, I knew this was a great opportunity and I had to take it.”
Ashley Chicorelli has been with Plug as a Total Rewards specialist in the Department of Labor since August 2023. A large part of her work has focused on the administration of benefits and compensation for US and international workers. He also manages sick leave in the US “Earlier in my career, I was involved in recruiting and training and then moved my foot into benefits management. I love the different part of working with benefits – the person and the analytical pieces. “
Ashley started her career in finance before moving to Plug. The financial industry is very structured and follows rules – people can grow and learn, but they have to stay inside the box. He was looking for something where growth, forward thinking and progress were not only valued, but encouraged.
The hydrogen and fuel cell industry was completely new to Ashley. He didn't really know about it when he started. “I love learning new things and growing. I'm not afraid to ask questions. I will always want to know more. The whole process is exciting. Now when people ask me what Plug does, I nerd out and give them a longer answer than they want. Very sweet!”
After a year working at Plug, Ashley found that “no two days are ever the same. As soon as you start to relax, things change and you have to think on your feet. You feel so fulfilled and then things change and you have to keep going.”
Managing change takes a healthy balance of caffeine and sarcasm. “Sometimes you have to think quickly and make decisions quickly. Sometimes you have time to make a plan and see it through to fruition.” One thing that hasn't changed, however, is the opportunity to grow and learn new things, something Ashley values the most.
When she's not working with Plug, Ashley spends time with her family. She has a 10-year-old son who is starting to get involved in many things. She and her husband enjoy spending time with friends and family who have children of the same age. She also enjoys yoga, hiking, and Zumba. Currently, Ashely loves to spend time outside in 3 seasons – but not winter. He is working on that. His son encourages him to learn snowboarding. We have no doubt that you will succeed!
