Electronics giant Siemens has launched its RapidSBx switchboard, designed to address the need for power distribution to supply commercial switchboards for fast EV charging station deployment.
The UL891 switchboard offers a streamlined design for charging stations and various commercial electrical infrastructures wherever an external switchboard is required to complement green systems. This includes urban settings such as airports, shopping malls and grocery stores as well as remote areas.
RapidSBx offers flexibility, durability, and ease of installation. The stock product offers customizable options for a 3-VA branch breaker and a rugged NEMA 3R outdoor enclosure, providing flexibility for a variety of installation situations and environmental conditions. The switchboard is available through distributors and channel partners in the US.
Safety measures included in the design of the switchboard include compliance with arc reduction, earthquake rating and tamper resistance. RapidSBx is compliant with the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program and certified by the Electric Service Equipment Requirements Committee (EUSERC).
