Austria-based Miba Battery Systems has introduced its new Terra #11 battery system featuring 46xx mobile technology for off-highway vehicles, construction equipment and utility vehicles.
Terra #11 operates at 650 V, and has a capacity of 42.8 kWh. Its dimensions of 1700 x 700 x 140 mm give manufacturers the flexibility to integrate it into various vehicle models. The integrated Miba Flexcooler system protects cells from overheating and ensures thermal management in challenging work environments.
Systems can be scaled by connecting several packs, while the flat design means they can be fully integrated into vehicles such as vans. An integrated matrix controller enables parallel switching, allowing for more flexibility and robustness.
Fire service supplier Rosenbauer uses the Terra #11 battery in the Panther electric aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) vehicle to extend battery life.
“The simple construction combined with the high strength greatly improves the flexibility of the vehicles for special performance vehicles. High acceleration and optimal performance provide significant benefits for critical operations,” the company said.
