The KYMCO RevoNEX electric motorcycle will be built on the LiveWire platform

KYMCO, Taiwan's leading motorcycle manufacturer, recently announced the next step in its growing partnership with US electric motorcycle company LiveWire. The long-awaited KYMCO RevoNEX electric motorcycle will now be based on the Arrow S2 developed by LiveWire.

The companies showcased the latest RevoNEX electric motorcycle design in a joint announcement at the 2024 EICMA Milan motorcycle show, with KYMCO Chairman Allen Ko riding the motorcycle to center stage for the dramatic reveal.

The RevoNEX has been years in the making and received several significant design updates on its winding path from concept to promising production. While the previous versions were closer to the direction of the bikes, KYMCO's collaboration with LiveWire allowed the RevoNEX to be reworked on a motorcycle platform already in serial production.

LiveWire uses the S2 Arrow platform for its Del Mar and Mulholland electric motorcycles, with a specially designed platform as a flexible base that can accommodate a multitude of different motorcycle options. Now one of those options will be under the KYMCO badge with unique styling unlike anything we've seen on LiveWire.

“Every detail of the new RevoNEX has been carefully crafted to bring riders a unique electric riding experience,” said KYMCO Chairman Allen Ko. “And we are committed to bringing the new RevoNEX to consumers in the shortest possible time.”

When I pressed Mr. Ko at the time, explained that their goal is to soon follow LiveWire's targeted launch of its upcoming Arrow S2-based electric maxi-scooter co-developed with KYMCO, scheduled for the first half of 2026. Ko added that he hopes RevoNEX will be ready to launch in the second half of 2026.

This marks the best chance for KYMCO's RevoNEX to stay on track to production and further underscores the growing relationship between the Taiwanese scooter giant and the American electric motorcycle maker.

Although there is still a lot of time to wait before the potential production version of the RevoNEX is revealed and production finally begins, the future looks bright now that KYMCO has chosen an advanced platform that can help realize the long-awaited RevoNEX vision on a realistic timeline.
