- The Invictus is a limited performance version of the Karma Revero PHEV
- Only 30 units of the Invictus will be built at a later, unannounced date
- Karma hasn't said how much Invictus is worth
Karma Automotive this week introduced yet another update to its long-awaited Revero plug-in hybrid.
The Karma Invictus is a more performance-oriented version of the Revero that will be lmodeled in only 30 units. Pricing and delivery timeline will be announced later.
Karma talked about a 3.9-second 0-60 mph time that's a little more than half a second faster than the Revero, but there's no increase in output from the carrierover powertrain that includes a BMW-sourced 1.5-liter turbo-3, two electric motors, and a 28-kwh battery pack. For the Revero, this setup is good for 536 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque, and the claim. 80 miles of electric range. The 0-60 mph range and electric figures are the same as those claimed by Karma in 2021, when the car was called the GS-6.

The quick acceleration is likely helped by the weight loss, as the Invictus has a carbon fiber hood, roof, trunk, and front fenders, which Karma says help to release air from the wheel wells. The rear spoiler and rocker panels are also made of carbon fiber, while the interior features an Art Deco motif inspired by New York City's Chrysler Building.
The Invictus also has a sports suspension system, which has dampers from Swedish specialist Öhlins and Swift springs, which “deliver more direct and precise steering, and improved grip and predictability at the edge of corners and over uneven road surfaces,” according to Karma. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S wheels, mounted on 21-inch wheels, should tighten up the grip as well.

Karma started 10 years ago with the purchase of Chinese auto parts supplier Wanxiang Group of the remnants of Fisker Automotive, the former company started by Henrik Fisker, before the current concern of Fisker Inc. in the back of an electric Ocean SUV. Since then, it has changed as much as the beginning, with proposed products ranging from luxury cars to commercial trucks, some of which have never been seen before.
The only consistent Karma product has been the Revero, which has its roots in the design of the Fisker Karma that preceded the Tesla Model S as a green car. The evolution of the car included the aforementioned name change from the Revero to the GS-6 and then back to the Revero. The company has shown off a number of models recently, including the Ivara SUV, but it's still a few years away from production.
