Charged EVs | Natural Resources Canada is offering $13.3 million to install new EV chargers


The Canadian government is investing 18.6 million Canadian dollars ($13.3 million) in EV chargers across the country.

“The installation of these chargers will help EV drivers get where they need to go with confidence and ease,” said Natural Resources Canada.

These funds will be given to a number of organizations who will use them to install more than 1,600 Level 2 and DC chargers in Toronto and across Canada.

Government funding for the EV charging project was provided through Natural Resources Canada's Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program.

“To support Canadians who drive EVs, where they live, work, travel and play, the Government of Canada is helping to create reliable and accessible charging options,” said Julie Dabrusin, Parliamentary Secretary to the Honorable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Energy and Environment. .

Natural Resources Canada is the Government of Canada department responsible for natural resources and energy. To date, NRC's investment has helped distribute more than 41,000 chargers across the country.
