Faraday Future plans to show prototypes of affordable electric cars at CES 2025, scheduled for Jan. 5-7 in Las Vegas.
Prototypes are part of a a new type called FX (short for Faraday X) Faraday revealed in a September investor presentation. Faraday Future FF91
Faraday has a long-established record of profits, rapid strategic changes, and missed opportunities. Former GM EV1 chief engineer Pete Savagian, most recently at Canoo, was senior VP of Faraday Future until 2018. He was one of the first few Faraday executives, as former CEO Jia Yueting held firm, to leave the company midway through the relationship. (and a $2 billion lifeline) and Hong Kong-based Evergrande have soured.
Financial problems have contributed to the long-term introduction of the FF 91. It was first shown in prototype form bound for production at CES 2017, but the first customer example was not delivered until August 2023. And that is what was intended as a low. -volume flagship without the volume raised Faraday is looking at FX EVs.
