Portable toilet company Diamond Environmental showed off its new, all-electric RIZON mid-size truck at a San Marcos, California travel event last month – and the verdict is in: these electric trucks don't stink!
San Marcos city officials attended the electric vehicle and sustainability event, including San Marcos Mayor Rebecca Jones, San Diego Land Policy Advisor Hunter McDonald and councilman Ed Musgrove. The stars of the show, however, were Diamond Environmental's four mid-range RIZON e18L EVs.
“RIZON trucks are a perfect fit for our day-to-day field operations and are in line with our environmental and sustainability goals,” explained Alex Fortunati, CEO of Diamond Environmental. “Thanks to San Diego County's incentive programs, we can economically transition to electromobility.”
Diamond Environmental has equipped their RIZON electric trucks with stack bed/double truck flatbed style bodies, allowing for a wide variety of transportation of portable toilets, sinks, and other sanitation equipment to construction sites and outdoor events such as the Super Bowl in. San Diego and the Coachella Music Festival.
On the other hand, RIZON seems really happy with the highly visible partnership with Diamond Environmental.
“We are pleased to support Diamond Environmental in its transition to RIZON zero-emission trucks, which make it easier and more flexible to operate. Our sales team worked closely with them throughout the selection process to create the right trucks to perfectly meet their business needs,” said Alex Voets, General Manager of RIZON USA. “We are proud to contribute to the creation of today's electric truck market, leading to a sustainable future for our communities.”
RIZON offers fast charging options for its 124 kWh battery, including DCFC up to 104 kW and Level 2 AC up to 14.9 kW, to reduce downtime for the company's daily delivery routes, reaching a range of up to 160 for a single charge. . More than enough, in other words, to handle whatever loads Diamond Environmental will throw at it.
Funding for the trucks came, in part, from the Innovative Small in Fleet (ISEF) program that offers qualifying small fleets a $120,000 voucher toward a Class 4-5 all-electric truck, as well as state-specific incentives, such as the San Diego County grant program County Air Pollution Control.
Electrek's Take

There's a perfect place in the North American market for a fast, easy-to-drive midsize truck like the RIZON, and Daimler's national network of Freightliner dealers and Western Star dealers should give first-time MD buyers a little more consideration than they otherwise would. get from the startup brand.
