Two California-based companies plan to unveil a prototype electric RV at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) next month.
The car, officially labeled as “AI Transformable Home” (AI-TH), was announced at CES 2024 this past January with the introduction of AC Future. That company has since partnered with Hydra Design Labs, which it says specializes in design, manufacturing and prototyping for the automotive industry to bring concepts closer to production readiness.

The car is designed to provide 400 square meters of living space with a slide-out section similar to conventional RVs, and “complete off-grid capabilities, including solar charging, water generation, and Internet connectivity,” says AC Future.
The prototype shown in the CES 2025developed by Hydra Design Labs, will be a more refined version of the first concept that appeared at the 2024 show, according to AC Future. But the startup has yet to confirm a production timeline.

Some companies operate electric RVs. RollAway, for exampleaims to rent luxury RVs made with General Motors BrightDrop electric vans. But RVs also face higher charging challenges than electric vehicles, due to both the need to squeeze more range into an inefficient package and the lack of high-power charging infrastructure in campgrounds and RV parks.
Plug-in hybrids may be a better solution, though Airstream's parent company is Thor Industries he is investigating. Battery-powered travel trailers can help drive them forward, such as the Lightship AE.1 Cosmos Edition due to go into production in mid-2025, and can help make zero-emission camping even more viable, although a tow vehicle is required.
