US-based solenoid and valve system manufacturer TLX Technologies is introducing the first two parts in its new family of 4-way and 3-way solenoid valves, designed to provide OEM and system design teams with thermal management controls. suitable for many vehicle platforms.
High-flow valves deliver low cross-flow leakage, which reduces the challenge for design teams to develop a thermal management system with desirable thermal efficiency and flow control characteristics.
The valves do not require constant power to maintain the commanded position and their efficient fluid flow mechanism minimizes pressure drop, allowing the vehicle's coolant pump to support the system's fluid control needs with less power, the company said. This contributes to reducing the overall energy consumption of the vehicle.
The new TLX family of valves can be used for automotive platforms with different connection process, operating voltage, and port size requirements. The valves support both 12 and 24 VDC operation and any orifice size up to 25.4 mm without changes to the valve body, flow paths, or drive system. They can use PWM or LIN communication protocols.
