Charged EVs | ZAPI acquires Ubiquicom, expanding its automation offerings


Italy-based ZAPI Group has acquired Ubiquicom, a provider of Real-Time Locating Systems (RTLS) for production, transport and logistics processes, to expand its capabilities as an integrator of electronic systems and warehouse automation.

The acquisition improves OEMs' access to automation systems that drive safety and efficiency in material handling and manufacturing operations, ZAPI said.

ZAPI Group companies provide a range of electrical solutions for material handling equipment and robots, including inverters and controllers, electric motors, high-voltage battery chargers, and accessories. The group's companies across the AGV and asset management sectors include Zapi, Best Motor, BlueBotics, Delta-Q Technologies, Inmotion Technologies, Schabmüller, ZIVAN, ZTP, 4E-Consulting and now Ubiquicom.

“Our RTLS solutions for safety and process efficiency throughout production, supply chain and logistics complement ZAPI Group's existing systems integration solutions and advance its electrification mission,” said Stefano Sarasso, founder and CEO of Ubiquicom.
