Ford announces $7,500 Fleet rebate on F150 Lightning Pro

Ford commercial truck customers can get a great deal on the new Ford F-150 Lightning Pro, thanks to a new $7,500 Fleet Order rebate offer – but that's just the beginning: there are other lightning incentives available for fleet buyers!

Before we dive too deep into this new Ford Fleet Order Discount, it's important to note that the $7,500 Fleet Order Discount is separate from the $7,500 Federal tax credit.

How do Government tax credits work? That's a good question! According to the IRS, “You may be eligible for a credit of up to $7,500 under Section 30D of the Internal Revenue Code if you purchase a new, qualified plug-in EV or fuel cell electric vehicle (FCV). The 2022 Tax Cuts Act has changed, but extends the terms of this credit for vehicles purchased between 2023 and 2032.”

Granted, that doesn't do much to answer the question, but Scooter Doll put together a pretty good explainer in a post titled, “Here's every electric car eligible for the US tax bill in 2024,” and that's the short version. both Standard and Extended battery versions of the F-150 Lightning would qualify for that credit.

Those Federal EV tax credit dollars are “puttable” with discounts like the one Ford is promoting in this banner ad, below…

… which means, for those of you keeping score, that means commercial fleet buyers can get $15,000 off the price of their new electric vehicle before negotiations and discounts from their dealer begin. But even that not the end of it.

But wait, there's more

Depending on where you live, you may be eligible for additional rebates and discounts — either from your state, whether that's through your state (like California's HVIP program and Oregon's Clean Vehicles rebate) or through your local utility, like Illinois' ComEd.

We've put together ComEd's multi-million dollar EV rebate program as part of our national Drive Electric Week. Update: fleet buyers in the ComEd area can get up to $7,500 more in rebate dollars, which can also be stacked with any Federal credits and Ford rebates. That's up to $22,500 in rebates — more than enough, in other words, to put a serious dent in a fleet buyer's upfront costs when they're ready to go electric.

Admittedly, that would be a big “if,” which is why E-Switch Assist from Ford Pro could be revolutionary in getting fleet buyers to accelerate their EV adoption plans. Ford Pro Sports Manager Nate McDonald recently paid us a visit Fast Charging to talk about a new fleet management tool and explain how it can help airlines find out if they're ready for EVs sooner rather than later.
