Ford dealers recently received a significant new incentive to deliver F-150 Lighting. Through the new pilot program, Ford will pay dealers up to $22,500 for every F-150 Lightning model returned from a Retail Replenishment Center.
During Market Day last May, Ford CEO Jim Farley outlined plans to make buying an electric car as easy as possible.
The changes include transparent pricing, a better customer experience, and remote delivery options. In order to get cars into the hands of customers quickly, Ford says it will launch a new Retail Replenishment Centers (RRC) that can deliver EVs in less than ten days.
According to a new report (via CarsDirect), Ford will pay dealers up to $22,500 when they fill F-150 Lightning models from RRC.
From October 15 to November 15, 2024, Ford's new incentive offers dealers $1,000 for every 2024 Lightning F-150 that leaves the fulfillment center.
If the dealer clears more than nine (maximum 15), the incentive increases to $1,500. Throughout the month, sellers can earn up to $22,500.

Ford's dealer note said the program is designed to “continuously evaluate the organization and performance of RRCs” while increasing interoperability.
The incentive applies to all trims except the base F-150 Lightning Pro, which is no longer available for sale.
As CarsDirect he points out, the system can be good and bad for consumers. Some dealers will want to move inventory of the F-150 Lightning at low prices, while others may sell models that are out of stock in the area.
However, this can mean less choice when visiting a retailer. The test program may come as Ford looks to phase out older models ahead of the new 2025 F-150 Lightning.
