Hyundai's first three-row electric SUV is almost here. Ahead of its official debut in November, Hyundai has released a new teaser of the large IONIQ 9, giving us a closer look at the much-anticipated SUV.
The time we have been waiting for is now near. Next month, Hyundai will launch its first three-row electric SUV, the IONIQ 9.
We first looked at Hyundai's large electric SUV concept SEVEN three years ago, which was revealed at the 2021 LA Auto Show.
Since then, Hyundai has confirmed that the new all-electric model will be called the IONIQ 9, following the popular IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6. The name change also reflects the large electric SUV's status as Hyundai's new flagship model.
Ahead of its November debut, Hyundai's first three-row electric SUV has been spotted in the wild, showing off its impressive size and bold new look.
Now, Hyundai is giving us our first official look at the IONIQ 9 with new teaser images. The IONIQ 9 marks the company's “first venture into the area of large SUV EV models,” Hyundai said.

Based on its advanced E-GMP platform, the IONIQ 9 boasts a “spacious and comfortable interior” in a press release this week.
The new theater reveals the “Aerosthetic” design, a combination of aerodynamic performance and aesthetic design.
Hyundai's three-row electric SUV “draws inspiration from the exterior and spacious, comfortable interior of yachts.” With an extended wheelbase and a single curved roof, the IONIQ 9 will provide “enough space for all passengers, including those in the third row.”
The character lines of the SUV are influenced by the traditional Korean dress, the Hanbok, with diagonal stripes on the side.
The headlights also feature Hyundai's signature parametric pixel design, carried over from its other IONIQ models.
Earlier this month, we took a closer look at the IONIQ 9 after it was caught testing with a little camo. We also got a look at the “spacious” interior earlier this week after the model was spotted parked on the road in Korea.
Although still to be confirmed, Hyundai's three-row electric SUV is expected to match the dimensions of the Kia EV9, measuring 197.2″ in length, 77.9″ in width, 70.1″ in height, and a 122″ wheelbase—about the size of the Telluride.
Kia's large electric SUV also has over 42″ of rear passenger room, more than the Cadillac Escalade.
With the EV9 starting at around $55,000, Hyundai's IONIQ 9 is expected to start at around the same price, if not slightly higher. Expensive amputations can cost upwards of $80,000.
Hyundai said more information will be revealed at its world premiere event in November. Check back as more information is expected soon. Also, stay tuned for more teasers leading up to its debut.
