Kia's charging service now has +800,000 EV chargers in Europe


Kia continues to make it easier for EV drivers to charge. Its EV charging service, Kia Charge, now has more than 800,000 charging points in 28 European countries, an increase of 39% compared to last year.

The service is a complete charging service for Kia drivers, including route planning, authentication, and payments under one umbrella.

“Kia continues to lay the groundwork for making electric driving accessible to a wider audience, and Kia Charge helps to simplify and improve every journey,” said Kia Europe director of customer experience and solutions, Martin Enthofer.

Kia has announced that its network has reached its peak, topping 800,000 EV chargers. This is a 39% increase compared to Q2 2023. The announcement comes after Kia announced that its network exceeded 700,000 chargers in April.

The charging solution now has over 100,000 subscribers. Kia said drivers have completed more than 2.5 million trips using the Kia Charge card or app.

“As more electric vehicles hit the road, it is important to match this uptake with the growing number of charging stations,” said Enthofer.

Kia has launched the charging service in 19 European countries so far but said customers can still use charging points in regions where it has not yet been launched.

With the new EV3 coming out, which starts at around $40,000 (36,000 euros), Kia expects its EV sales to accelerate in Europe.

Kia is already calling the EV3 a “game changer” in the domestic market. Next year, the EV4 electric sedan will join the lineup. Expected to start at $35,000 to $40,000, Kia plans to meet the growing demand for affordable EVs.

Meanwhile, in the US, Kia EV9 and EV6 drivers will be able to access Tesla's Supercharger network on January 15, 2025. Kia said that buyers who take delivery of a new 2024 or 2025 Kia EV9 EV6 from September 4, 2024, will be shipped. a free NACS adapter.
