Nissan's next-gen LEAF has been spotted testing in the US
After introducing the LEAF in 2010 as the first mass-market EV, Nissan's electric hatch won over many buyers with its low starting price and comfortable drive.
Fast forward 15 years and almost every automaker has an electric car. The LEAF is losing power with new electric models with more range, faster charging, and new advanced technologies.
Nissan is preparing to change that. The Nissan LEAF will be refreshed, and from what we've seen so far, it will be completely overhauled.
After ending production at its UK facility almost a year ago, Nissan is preparing to launch a new wave of electric vehicles.
The first will be the next-gen LEAF. Nissan is changing with this new approach as it looks to refresh the LEAF in the current era. Nissan says its Chill-out concept, unveiled in 2021, gives us an idea of what to expect.

According to sources who have seen the new EV, Nissan's next-gen LEAF will be a crossover coupe rather than a hatchback. One even described it as a “small Ariya,” Nissan's large electric SUV. However, it is still expected to be smaller and sportier than the Qashqai and Juke models.
Coming around the corner, Nissan's next-gen LEAF was recently spotted testing with Michigan plates. New image from KindelAuto unveils its new crossover-like design.
Despite the camouflage, you can see its design evolution from the original LEAF with a sporty stance and sleek profile.
Nissan is expected to start building the new LEAF at its UK plant in early spring 2025. Check back for more information leading up to its launch.
