Installation of the Tesla Powerwall is vertical based on the latest data released by the company. There are now 750,000 Powerwall installations worldwide.
Recently, we were surprised to see Tesla announce that it is now able to produce 700,000 Poweralls per year.
The surprise came from the fact that, as of last year, Tesla had only installed 500,000 Powerwalls since they started production in 2015.
It is sad that we installed 500,000 units in 8 years and now we have a distribution capacity of 700,000 in just one year.
However, Tesla has now released a new data point showing recent increases in Powerwall production and installations.

The chart appears to be consistent with Tesla's previously announced installation of its 500,000th Powerall in June of last year:
But still, it's amazing that Tesla went from installing about 250,000 Powerwalls last year to being able to power 700,000 of them.
Although having production capacity is different from installation capacity – although it would be strange for Tesla to release a production capacity many times greater than its installation capacity.
The company is also adding more installers to its certified power installer program, potentially increasing its installation capacity.
Today, Tesla confirmed that it has rolled out 6.9 GWh of energy storage capacity in Q3 2024 – although most of that is expected to come from its Megapacks rather than Powerwalls.
