Dodge's new Charger Daytona EV might look better as a convertible. Dodge's new electric muscle car is already getting its first upgrade. Check out the custom EV muscle car below.
The Dodge Charger Daytona EV gets a convertible upgrade
In March, Dodge introduced the Charger Daytona EV, which it says is the “world's first” electric muscle car. You can choose from two models, the base R/T or for the adrenaline junkies, the high performance Scat Pack trim would be the better option.
“The 2024 Dodge Charger electrified Daytona Scat Pack delivers the performance levels of the Charger Hellcat Redeye,” according to brand CEO Tim Kuniskis.
With the Direct Connection Stage 2 upgrade kit straight from the factory, the Scat Pack trim delivers up to 670 hp with a 0 to 60 mph sprint in just 3.3 seconds. That's faster than the Dodge Charger SRT Redeye Jailbreak edition.
Powered by a Supercharged 6.2L HEMI SRT V8 engine, the SRT Redeye model takes 3.6 seconds from 0 to 60 mph.
Ahead of delivery, the new Charger is already being developed with its first top-of-the-line model. Florida-based conversion specialist Drop Top Customs has just unveiled the first Dodge Charger Daytona EV convertible.
After getting their hands on an early model, the company shared images of the top-of-the-line electric charger on its Facebook page.
You can see the prototype in action. It has a few obvious imperfections, such as the trunk not moving properly on the driver's side. However, if the Drop Top could clean it up a bit, the Electric Charger might have some potential as a convertible.
| 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV trim | Horse power | 0 to 60 mph time | The original price |
| Dodge Daytona Charger R/T | it's 496hp | 4.7 seconds | $59,995 |
| Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack | it's 670hp | 3.3 seconds | $73,190 |
Dodge opened orders for the 2024 Charger Daytona R/T in September, starting at $59,995. The most efficient Scat Pack model will run you at least $73,190, but both qualify for the full $7,500 EV tax credit.
