Jaguar will reveal a concept car that previews what its future electric vehicles will look like December 2, during Miami Art Week.
The automaker released ia thumbnail image of the conceptcalled the Design Vision concept, on Wednesday it shows a curved rear fender, but also other angular features that appear to be from Jaguar's current look.
A prototype for the next generation Jaguar EV
The concept will likely closely preview Jaguar's first edition, a low-slung grand tourer the automaker has already shown testing in a very subtle way. Jaguar previously said a production version would have it started in 2025 sporting six people and more power than any previous Jaguar road car, deliveries start next year.
This will be one of the three EVs, and the other two are expected to be an SUV and a conventionally styled sedan. All three will be based on a new platform called JEA (Jaguar Electrified Architecture) and will have North American Charging Standard (NACS) ports for drivers to access Tesla Supercharger stations. They will cover the entire product line, making Jaguar all-electric after years of hesitation.
2024 Jaguar I-Pace
The Jaguar I-Pace was one of the first electric cars to come out of the popular luxury brand, but Jaguar failed to follow suit. There were plans to bring the Pace to a second generation, as well as the introduction of an electric flagship sedan to replace the petrol XJ, but both were shelved in favor of a clean slate approach.
Jaguar does this too complete electrical replacement suddenly, it is abandoning most of its current petrol models, as well as the I-Pace. The F-Pace is expected to remain a Jaguar-only model until the new EVs arrive, a situation Jaguar managing director Rawdon Glover called “very frustrating.”
