Kia's entry-level EV has finally made it to the famous Nurburgring for testing. The EV4 hatch has been seen tearing up the track, almost on two wheels at once, as Kia prepares for its big debut.
According to Kia, the EV4 is “a completely new type of EV sedan. ” It was first unveiled last October at Kia's annual EV Day, alongside the EV3 and EV5 as part of its new low-cost lineup.
The EV5 was launched in China last year, while the EV3 has started appearing in Korea and Europe. Next, we will finally see the production version of the EV4.
Although its four-door format suggests it's a sedan, Kia said the EV4's bold design is a sign of the company's innovation. Its low nose, long tail silhouette, and added roof spoiler make it look almost like a racing car.
Since its official debut, Kia's EV4 has been spotted several times in the wild. Last week, it was caught testing in the US for the first time.
A hatchback model was also spotted. It first hit the streets of Europe this summer and in the US earlier this month.

After the EV4 was spotted racing around the Nurburgring for the first time, we've got a very good look at Kia's upcoming model.
Video from CarSpyMedia shows the EV4 hatch recording parts of the track. A few times, you can see the EV4 being pushed to the limits, almost going up on two wheels.
However, with a low center of gravity and added stability technology, the EV4 seems to handle it with ease. You can also see the difference between the sedan and hatchback models, and the large rear.
As it takes to the track, it is almost identical to the 576 hp EV6 GT, Kia's fastest and most powerful car. At least for now.
Kia is expected to officially unveil the EV4 by the end of the year, with deliveries starting in 2025. Prices are expected to be in the $30,000 to $40,000 range. The hatchback model is likely to be targeted at Europe, but it could also find a market in the US as buyers flock to more efficient options.
Ahead of the LA Auto Show later this week, Kia teased five new American vehicles, at least one of which is an EV. Will it be EV4? EV3?
