To promote zero-emissions rides in the UK, Uber has teamed up with Lotus to roll out a fleet of the latest Eletre Hyper EVs in London. Now until the end of November, London commuters can book a ride on Eletre by selecting Uber Green in their app. Even better, the rider who saves the most carbon emissions will win free Uber Green rides for the next ten years.
The Lotus Eletre is a new, all-electric SUV from Lotus Cars. It was first teased in 2021 before officially launching the following year. After starting production and deliveries in China, Lotus began taking orders for its latest BEV model in North America and Europe this past April.
We've since seen the ultra-luxe “Carbon” variant debut in North America as Lotus transitions to an all-electric future of high-end EVs. To promote its latest model and sustainability principles, Lotus has partnered with Uber in England to provide comfortable rides to rideshare customers who prefer to travel without emissions.
To encourage the use of those Lotus BEVs in London exclusively, Uber is offering a decade of affordable rides to customers who save the most gas emissions next month.
Uber Green is offering rides on the Lotus Eletre until November
Lotus shared details of its latest promotion with Uber this morning, which includes the deployment of a number of Eletre SUVs in London. According to Uber, nearly 30% of drivers' miles traveled in London are now all-electric, and to reward those customers, it's offering a comfortable ride with the new Eletre SUV.
Locals and visitors to London can book a Lotus BEV with the Uber Green option on their rideshare app, but only for a limited time. To sweeten the deal, Uber allows its riders to track the miles they've traveled, and anyone who counts the most miles by the end of November will get free Uber Green rides for the next ten years. Each General Manager of Uber UK
Andrew Brem:
We are incredibly excited to partner with Uber to have our fleet of all-electric Lotus Eletre available in London via the app for riders to experience and enjoy. We hope this move will not only improve the ride experience for Uber customers but also contribute to a greener city, something we at Lotus are passionate about.
Since Uber began operating in London, it claims to have saved 55,000 tons of carbon emissions in the English capital alone. In addition to promoting tax-free travel, Uber Green drivers earn a 10% higher commission than UberX rides. At the same time, passengers pay the same price as the last option for electric travel throughout their journey.
If you're in London, check out those Lotus Eletre SUVs driving Uber Green. Good luck to the carbon saving commuter now through November 30th.
