An Unexpected Beginning That Turned into a Career

Nathan's journey to the Plug began unexpectedly. The Guardian had access to limited information about the role, but decided to take a chance anyway. Looking back, he sees it as one of the best decisions he has made, leading to ten years of growth and experience within the company.

Growing with Opportunities

Over the years, Nathan has taken on many roles and challenges at Plug. He appreciates the company's fast-paced nature, which creates opportunities to step up and take ownership. Through this, he was able to build teams, improve performance, and grow as a leader.

Turning Challenges into Growth

One of the most defining moments in Nathan's career came during a period of frequent management changes. Although challenging, it motivated him to take on more responsibility and eventually step into his current role. What could have been seen as instability turned out to be a turning point in his leadership journey.

Measuring Growth and Consistency

Nathan says one of the biggest challenges has been managing rapid growth while maintaining structure and consistency on the production floor. She focuses on setting clear expectations, improving communication across teams, and holding everyone accountable. He believes in solving problems properly rather than relying on short-term solutions.

Excited by Impact

What motivates Nathan most is the impact of the work. He sees hydrogen and fuel cells as technologies that could change the way energy is produced and used. Being a part of that change, while solving complex manufacturing challenges, keeps him busy and driven.

The Concept of Continuous Improvement

Nathan lives on a simple schedule. Be true to yourself and others and always push to be better than yesterday. He applies this concept both in his personal life and in the way he leads his team.

Focused on Health and Behavior

Outside of work, Nathan is strongly committed to fitness, nutrition, and overall health. This change in lifestyle has helped him to build good morals and a strong mind moving forward in his work and leadership.
