The Path to TCO PARITY with Fuel Cell Buses with Ballard's Fcmove®-SC

Fuel electric buses (FCEBS) are moving beyond pilots to increasingly commercial vessels. They offer performance – fast acceleration, long range, and consistent performance in hot and cold weather – but have historically carried a premium cost of ownership (TCO) compared to diesel, and in many cases, battery electric buses (berbs). That figure depends largely on the price of hydrogen, vehicle acquisition costs, and operational requirements. Less clear, but decided, is how the cells of the Fuel Celer Module design and the construction of the PowerTrain can affect what is installed.

Bhallaard's FCmove®-Sc – The company's ninth cell platform – is designed for transit buses and shows how efficient module design with simple vehicle integration directly impacts TCO improvements. FCmove®-Sc module includes lessons from Ballard's Marketing Marketing-leading to practical work including OEM and Operation Reform from more than 250 million kilometers.

FCMove®-Sc New module-level new packages and two with telemetry services-enabled vehicles. Together, these changes reduce assembly costs, lower consumption of hydrogen in multiple work cycles, and reduce the impact of maintenance and moving multiple routes DownTime – Moving multiple routes is a challenge as hydrogen scales and vehicle procurement improves and repeats.

Ballard's new paper explains how the development of the level of production reduces the capital costs (capex) and the operating costs (Opex), how the stractoller system of hydrogen, and the actions of the powertrain are effective for power.

FCmove®Studying the SC range shows targeted engineering – high temperature, integrated DC / DC power conversion, reduction of DC / CENTRICE components – produces additional benefits, low maintenance of vehicles, low maintenance of vehicles when combined with predictive telemetry services. These results impact Capex and Opex and therefore Fleet TCO in Content-Level ways.

The deployment of modules and the deployment of guided programs and the procurement of measured assets form a reliable way to TCO Parity through the most difficult routes. FCmove®The example of -Sc shows that engineering options and technical execution, when paired with proper operational performance, can change FCEB from a different niche in the competitive network of city buses.
